Mama Mio product review

Mama Mio is a skincare line generally marketed towards pregnant women. Although you don't have to be expecting to enjoy the luxurious products if you feel like pampering your skin. Mama Mio has everything from body creams to relaxing candles to other formulas to help you with areas like the 'twins' and your rump!

I'm reviewing Mama Mio's super-rich body cream. This cream has received accolades in magazines like "People" and "OK!" just to name a few. The cream was featured in People Magazine's "2006 Mother's Day Gift Guide". The smell is pleasant, there is not one trace of foul smelling chemicals, and it glides on so easily. It can be used anytime. It's a very versatile body cream. I would highly recommend this to anybody who could use a little bit more moisture in their skin!

I'm also reviewing Mama Mio's "Boob Tube". Every woman knows that eventually one day, the 'twins' will eventually head south. With this product, you can help defy the eventual gravity that every woman will unfortunately have to face. Celebrities like Mariska Hargitay and Rachel Weisz are said to be "gaga" over this product (US Weekly). I started using it about 3 days ago, and I could see a bit of a difference. I will be sure to update occasionally into my "boob-lifting" journey.
"After 3 days my boobs felt firmer and perkier – a truly miracle product!! 10/10" -OK! Magazine

Be sure to check out Mama Mio!

Girlactik review

So I'm reviewing a lip gloss and eye shadow from the awesome brand "Girlactik". This brand has been featured in magazines and according to Eva Longoria, "everyone in Hollywood is using it." (quote from Tatler magazine). The eyeshadows have made appearances in magazines like Allure, Glamour, Marie Claire, In Touch and US Weekly.

I love the Star Shadow in "Penny". It is described as a shimmering copper, and this particular shade has been seen in Glamour Magazine! I love it, it blends amazingly well and the color is rich and beautiful. It reminds me a little bit of MAC eyeshadow in Bronze. "Penny" really ignites the golden flecks in brown eyes!

I'm also reviewing the Star Gloss in "Just Sexy". These glosses have been seen in Oprah and People magazine. Anyway, back to my review: "Just Sexy" is described as a coral pink with a golden undertone. Being a redhead, I love coral shades, because they can range from their undertones can range from pink to orange to gold. I have so many of them, but this has earned a place in my favorites. You don't need that much product, a little bit goes a long way. It has pretty good staying power, I didn't notice myself having to reapply too many times.

I would highly recommend this awesome brand.

Check them out!

Right now they have a "free gift with purchase" offer going on with a purchase of $75 or more!

City Cosmetics Review

So City Cosmetics sent me these lovely lip plumpers to try out. I have tried all kinds of -low end and high end- lip plumpers (Too Faced Lip Injection, DuWop Lip Venom, and Lip Fusion to name a few). Although I am very content with my decently full lip size, I can't help but try to channel Ms. Angelina Jolie from time to time.

I love these. The smell isn't off-putting, they don't sting, and they don't turn your lips a weird shade of reddish pink that screams ALLERGIC REACTION!

The colors are sheer, but gorgeous. My favorites are South Peach, Clear, and Sun Diego.

Here are some pictures of a City Cosmetic customer before applying CityLips, 10 minutes after application, and 30 days of regular application.
Note: These are not my lips, I got the pictures from the City Cosmetics official website.

After 30 days of regular use

Pretty cool, huh? Want to try it out for yourself? Of course you do!

Cargo Cosmetics review

I am a huge fan of Cargo anyway, so the new Blu_ray collection definitely caught my eye. The products are formulated for high definition film and photography, but the products also give you the airbrushed look that is so sought after by fellow makeup junkies. I'm reviewing two of their products:

OneBase

I used this product in shade '01'. It glides on with ease and blends into your natural skin tone flawlessly. I used it to cover dark circles, and redness (caused by my thyroid condition). So anything that can help me in that department is A+ in my book.

Blu_ray Blush/Highlighter

This is a beautiful color. I love it. It looks very light when you first open the package, but it goes on a bit darker. The photochromatic pigments adjust with the lighting in the room to create the look of a soft and airbrushed complexion. I love love love this. This has earned its place as a staple in my makeup bag.

Great job as always, Cargo!

Nvey Cosmetics Review

Cruelty free (no animal testing) and organic environmental friendly cosmetics?

Where do I sign up?

I am very happy to review a few items from Nvey. I love this brand not only because of the high quality items they produce, but also because they don't test on animals, and they use all natural ingredients in their cosmetics.

I will be reviewing a corrective concealer (in the shade "Neutral"), a light shimmery pink eyeshadow (#159), a denim blue eyeshadow (#166), a blush (#952), a raisin colored lipstick (#366), a berry colored lip lustre (in "Berry Delight").

Organic Erase Corrective Makeup (in "Neutral")
I was unfortunately cursed with dark undereye circles that are always present, even if I am well-rested. They are very difficult to cover, I usually need to layer a corrective concealer, a regular concealer, and powder in order to cover them up. This product cut my "erase undereye circles" process in half. This single product does the job of a corrective concealer and a regular concealer! Instead of using three products to erase my circles, now I only need one. Awesome.

Organic Eyeshadows (#159, #166)
These eyeshadows blend seamlessly and wonderfully. The pigment is easily picked up by an eyeshadow brush and easily blended with an eyeshadow blending brush or a finger. The light pink shimmery shade really pops on the brow bone. I can imagine these shades working on any skintone as a sheer wash on the eyelid (if you're not skilled at applying eye makeup) or as one of many shades combined to create an eye with more than one dimension.

Organic Powder Blush (#952)
This blush works as a bronzer or a blush, based on your skin tone. I have been looking for the perfect shade to use as a bronzer or a blush, and I think I have found it! The light shimmery golden bronze gives me a light bronzy glow when I want it, without making my face look dirty or streaky.

Organic Lip Lustre (in "Berry Delight")
My favorite thing about this lip lustre is the fact that it is a medium berry color that can be worn as a light berry stain or a layered to a deeper, more opaque shade of berry. Perfect for those days when you don't want to look like you have makeup on, but you want to look effortlessly gorgeous. Or you can deepen the color for a more dramatic statement. I can imagine pulling this shade out in any season. I can see myself wearing this on a summer date, on a fall day, at a winter holiday party, or just hanging out at the start of spring.

Organic Lipstick (#366)
This shimmery purple lipstick would look great on a skintone with "cool" undertones. Perfect for creating a high fashion or unconventionally beautiful look.

This paint can is the epitome of the 50's glamorous look that people constantly recreate even in the present day. The makeup from that era is my favorite to imitate.

Counting down to "Kitty"...

When you take one of the biggest makeup giants around (MAC) and combine it with one of Sanrio's universally loved characters (Hello Kitty)...

You get some very excited makeup fans, not to mention some very soon-to-be empty wallets.

How cute is this stuff?

I love love love false eyelashes.

Sheer coverage and lip protection all in one. Not to mention the adorable 'hello kitty' graphic on the top of the lid (not pictured).

I have my eyes on "Big Bow" (glaze formula)...

I love the color palettes MAC creates with each new color collection. They never cease to amaze me.

The Hello Kitty cosmetic line is available on Nordstrom.com for browsing and you can utilize the 'add to shopping cart' feature.

First FOTD

If I haven't made it clear enough about how much I love the look of red lips, allow me to further elaborate. My favorite thing about red lips and black winged liner is the fact that this look can range from "wide-eyed innocence" to "sex kitten". You can intensify the red on the lips, or wing the liner out just a bit more, or you can play up your cheeks a bit to a girly flush...but not too much, considering the lips take center stage with this look.

Inspiration for this look comes from 50's hollywood icons (such as Rita Hayworth), and from the sexiest animated character ever (Jessica Rabbit).

Products Used:

FACE
Maybelline Matte Mousse foundation in "Light 2"
MAC powder blush in "Dollymix"
Stila eyeshadow in "Kitten" (who knew that a product that comes in the form of an eyeshadow would turn out to be a great cheek highlighter?)

EYES
MAC Fluidline eyeliner in "Blacktrack" on top lid only
Dior "Diorshow" mascara

LIPS
EyesLipsFace lipliner in "Bark" as a base (only $1.00! Perfect for beauty on a budget!)
MAC Matte lipstick in "Russian Red"
NARS lipgloss in "Bloodwork"

The result:
